PDO thread treatments can provide people with amazing anti-aging results. They can effectively address some of the most common signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, lack of definition and sagging skin.
Not only are PDO thread treatments a minimally-invasive procedure, the threads themselves are made from a synthetic material that is 100% biodegradable and biocompatible. This means that the body will use natural processes to break them down over time, and that there is a low risk of complications or side effects.
In fact, most of the potential side effects that can happen occur because of an error made by the provider who is performing the treatment.
At V Soft Lift, we work hard to reduce the errors that practitioners can make when they use our leading PDO threads. We do this by providing them direct training and support, but also in how we have created and distribute our products.
In this article, we’ll discuss one of the most important aspects of this — sterilizing PDO threads before they are packaged.
We use ethylene oxide (or EO) to sterilize our PDO threads. This gas is commonly used to sterilize various medical devices, as it has proven to be very effective at killing microorganisms.

How Are PDO Threads Sterilized?
Sterilization is an extremely important aspect of safety in cosmetic treatments. Even though PDO threads are minimally-invasive and don’t present a huge risk for something to go wrong, problems can definitely arise if the thread themselves or any of the equipment used in the procedure is not properly sterilized.
At V Soft Lift, we ensure that all of our products are thoroughly and properly sterilized before they are packaged to remove these concerns.
We use ethylene oxide (or EO) to sterilize our PDO threads. This gas is commonly used to sterilize various medical devices, as it has proven to be very effective at killing microorganisms.
After that, they are then blister-packed and put in individual aluminum pouches. This provides extra protection from any potential contamination in a few different ways.
The blister packing and aluminum pouches protect the PDO threads as they are being handled by people during the shipping and receiving processes, and as they’re stored by a facility once received. They also ensure that they aren’t exposed to air, which could affect the integrity of the products.
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | PDO threads undergo sterilization using ethylene oxide (EO) gas. |
| 2 | Threads are blister-packed to maintain sterility during handling. |
| 3 | Blister packs are sealed in individual aluminum pouches. |
| 4 | Packaged units are shipped and stored with protection from contamination. |
How Do V Soft Lift’s PDO Threads Differ from Others in Terms of Sterilization?
There is one major difference between V Soft Lift’s PDO threads and those produced by other companies. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared our PDO threads inserted into the cannula as one complete unit.
Many other companies only have received FDA clearance for the threads themselves and not the unit that is used by practitioners to insert the threads into the skin.
The reason why this matters is it gives us control of the entire package from start to finish, which ensures complete sterilization of the threads and the device that’s used to insert them.
With other companies, there is a chance of contamination when the PDO threads are taken out of their package and inserted into a separate cannula, which is taken out of its package. This contamination could occur with either of the products in their packaging, or in the process of placing the threads inside the cannula.
Since we provide cannulas that are preloaded with PDO threads, our product remains sterilized for much longer and at much more consistent rates than our competitors. This leaves nothing to chance in the packaging, shipping, storage or usage stages of treatment.
As a patient, this should bring you great comfort in knowing that you will be getting completely sterile products through which your PDO threads treatment will be performed.
Clinics that use our products can also rest assured that we have them covered from start to finish, so they can uphold their good reputations.
V Soft Lift Products Stand Head and Shoulders Above the Rest
It’s essential that all products used in a PDO threads procedure are completely sterile to minimize the risk for contamination and complications. This goes for not just the PDO threads themselves but also the cannulas that are used to insert them in the skin.
When practitioners use PDO threads from V Soft Lift, they can know with confidence that the products are completely sterile, thanks to the fact that both our threads and cannula have been cleared by the FDA.
