What Happens in a PDO Thread Lift?
Before you undergo a PDO thread lift procedure, you’ll discuss with the practitioner what you can expect. You’ll also talk about what results you are looking for from the procedure so that the practitioner can ensure they are doing the most effective tactics possible.
Then, it’s time for the procedure to start. As a non-invasive procedure, you aren’t “put under” general anesthesia. You’ll be awake during the procedure, but you have nothing to worry about.
Your practitioner will use local anesthesia to numb the area where the injection will take place, and to ensure that you don’t feel pain.
After waiting a minute or two for that medicine to set in, the practitioner can start inserting the PDO threads. They will use a thin needle that’s referred to as a cannula to insert multiple PDO threads underneath your skin.
What type of cannula and what type of PDO threads are inserted depends on what results you are looking to get out of the procedure as well as the actual makeup of your skin.

Generally speaking, patients might experience minor bruising and swelling following a PDO threads procedure, usually for as many as five days. This can be treated by the suggestions above and some over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications.
How much discomfort you feel during the procedure will depend on your pain tolerance, the type of skin you have and what threads are being used. For instance, thicker PDO threads result in more lift, but they can also cause more discomfort during the procedure.
